The 2022–23 Boston Bruins season was the 99th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924.[1]

On March 2, 2023, the Bruins recorded their 100th standings point of the season in their 61st game, becoming the fastest team to 100 points in NHL history, and surpassing the record previously held by the 1976–77 Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadiens.[2]

On March 11, 2023, the Bruins recorded their 50th win of the season in 64 games, becoming the fastest team to 50 wins in a season in NHL history, surpassing the record previously held by the 2018–19 Tampa Bay Lightning and 1995–96 Detroit Red Wings.[3] Later that day, they also became the first team of the season and the third fastest team to clinch a playoff berth in an 82-game season.[4] The Bruins won their 3rd Atlantic Division title and 27th overall with a win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 25.[5] They won their fourth Presidents' Trophy with an overtime victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets five days later on March 30.[6]

The Bruins set an NHL record for most wins and points in a season with 65 wins and 135 points respectively, surpassing the record previously held by the 2018–19 Tampa Bay Lightning and 1995–96 Detroit Red Wings.[7][8] Despite this, the Bruins blew a 3-1 lead and were upset in the first round by the Florida Panthers, losing in seven games. As such, they joined the 2007 Patriots, 2001 Mariners, 1906 Cubs, and 2015–16 Warriors as all-time winningest regular season teams not to win their respective league's championship. Unlike those teams, however, the Bruins lost in the first round of the playoffs, while the Mariners reached the ALCS and the Patriots, Cubs, and Warriors all reached their respective championship series.
