2024 IIHF Women's World Championship

The 2024 IIHF Women's World Championship will be the 23rd edition of the IIHF World Women's Championship, an international ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), contested in Utica, New York, United States from 4 to 14 April 2024 at the Adirondack Bank Center and the Utica University Nexus Center.[1][2]

Format

The top five teams from the previous tournament were placed in Group A and the teams that finished sixth through eighth in the 2023 tournament, plus two teams promoted from 2023 Division IA, will be placed in Group B. All of the teams in Group A and the top three teams from Group B continue to the knockout phase, while the bottom two teams from Group B will be relegated. During the knockout stage, there will be a re-seeding after the quarterfinals.[3]
