Aaron Lazar

Aaron Scott Lazar (born June 21) is an American actor, singer, and entrepreneur known for his work on Broadway, television, film and concerts.

Early life and education

Aaron was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.[1] He graduated from Cherry Hill High School West[2] where he first started singing and performing in musicals while excelling academically and in track and field as a discus and javelin thrower. Lazar attended Duke University, where he earned a BA magna cum laude, while completing the prerequisite classes for medical school and taking the MCAT. After being accepted at the elite University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM),[3] he put plans for being a surgeon on hold, earning an MFA in musical theater before moving to New York City. He now lives in Los Angeles.

Career

Broadway and theater

Aaron's eleven Broadway and National Tour credits include The Phantom of the Opera, The Last Ship, Impressionism, A Little Night Music, Dear Evan Hansen, Les Miserables (Drama Desk Award nominee), and The Light in the Piazza.[4][5][6]

Since he started performing at age nine, Aaron has performed in more than forty professional productions including A New Brain and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at New York City Center Encores!.[7] And most recently the pre-Broadway run of The Secret Garden at The Ahmanson in Los Angeles.[8]

Television and film

Aaron has starred in over 20 television shows including the role of Reverend Paul Thomas on Fox's Filthy Rich.[9] He's also known for his work in The Wolf of Wallstreet, This is Where I Leave You, J.Edgar, and Everything Everywhere All At Once (Sag Award winner).[10][11]

Concert and cabaret

Aaron has performed with some of the world's top symphonies from the New York Philharmonic[12] to the NYPops at Carnegie Hall to the Kennedy Center, to Masada[13] as both a guest artist and soloist with his own critically acclaimed one man shows ‘Broadway to Hollywood’.[14] and 'All For You', his new show with Tony nominee Kate Baldwin, and maestro Luke Frazier and members of the American Pops Orchestra.[15][16]

His voice can be heard on numerous Broadway and off-Broadway cast albums.[17] [18]

During the pandemic Aaron produced the album 'Broadway Lullabies' with a starry cast of Broadway friends and parents to soothe families with reimagined Broadway classics.[19]
