Adesoji Adesugba

Adesoji Adesugba is a Nigerian lawyer, investment promotion and economic development expert currently serving as the managing director/chief executive officer of Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA).  He is a visiting professor of Business Administration at Roegate College in Dublin, Ireland.[1][2]

Education

Adesoji Adesugba earned his first degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in 1981 before studying law at the same university in 1987. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989.[3] He obtained his MBA from Ogun State University, Nigeria and studied for a master's degree in Investment Promotion and Economic Development at Edinburgh Napier University, in Scotland. He attended California Southern University, USA for a doctorate degree in Business Administration where he finished with highest distinction.[3] He holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK and a certificate in Chinese Economic Development from the Normal University, Beijing, China. He is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, Nigeria.[3]

Career

Adesugba started his career in 1982 with Nigerian Customs service as a Superintendent Collector Grade II and left the service as a Chief Superintendent in 1999 to join Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) where he served as a director. After leaving NIPC, he was appointed chairman of Industrial Arbitration Panel. Adesugba is a visiting professor of Business Administration at Roegate College in Dublin, Ireland and a former visiting professor at the American University of West Africa, Banjul Gambia.[1] He taught Investment Promotion at the Baden International Business School, Baden, Switzerland. He is vice president of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and founder and Provost of Business Entrepreneurship Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre. He was appointed managing director/chief executive officer of Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority on 26 June 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari.[4][5]
