Aliyu Ibrahim Gebi

Aliyu Gebi (born 17 January 1975) is Nigerian politician. He serves as a Special Adviser to the Minister of Interior and was a member of the Nigerian Federal House of Representatives[1] as well as The ECOWAS parliament. He was chairman House Committee on Internal Security in the federal house and deputy chairman Committee on Trade, Customs and Free Movement of Persons at the ECOWAS Parliament.

Biography

Gebi attended Kobi Primary School Bauchi and graduated from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi State in 1998 where he studied Computer Science with Advanced Mathematics.

Gebi began his career as a software engineer in 1996 and continued to work in the field until 2010, when he was elected to the ECOWAS parliament.[2] He served between 2011 and 2015. As a representative, Gebi was a member of the House Committee on House Services, House Committee on Public Service Matters, House Committee on Media and Publicity, House Committee on Petroleum Upstream, and House Committee on Narcotics and Financial Crimes. Gebi also served as the ECOWAS Parliament Deputy Chairman for the Committee on Trade, Customs and Free Movement of Persons and as the Member House of Representatives Chairman for the House Committee on Internal Security of the 7th Assembly, Federal House of Representatives, Nigeria.[3] Gebi was an APC Member and House of Representatives flag bearer during this time.[4]

Gebi has undertaken projects in the state with aid from organizations such as the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Agency. These projects include drilling of boreholes in 2018,[5] installation of electricity transformers and renovation of schools in different Local Government Areas.[2]
