Amaju Pinnick

Amaju Melvin Pinnick (born 1 December 1970) is a very intelligent and vibrant Nigerian entrepreneur, He is a global businessman with diverse interests in Onshore and Offshore Support Services, Construction and Engineering, Agriculture, Entertainment and Hospitality amongst others. He is a 1994/1995 graduate of the Political Science and Public Administration Department of the prestigious University of Benin, Benin City.

After recognizing the opportunity gaps in the various business sectors, he initiated Brownhill Group to bridge these gaps and has since partnered with major firms around the world to ensure the actualization of this noble vision.

Amaju Melvin Pinnick served as President of the Nigeria Football Federation from 2014-2022. The first Nigerian to have done two successive tenures. Currently, he is a member of the CAF Executive Committee, haven served as the first vice President from 2018-2019. He is also a member of the highly revered FIFA Council.

Career in Football

Pinnick started his career as the second Vice Chairman of Delta State Football Association in 1999. In 2002, he was elected as the first Vice Chairman and subsequently in 2005, he was elected as Chairman Delta Football Association.[4] In 2008, he was appointed as the Pioneer Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission. He combined both top positions effectively.

In Delta State Sports Commission, He led the commission to winning two of the three National Sports Festival (The Nigerian version of the Olympics) and coming second in one. As Chairman of Delta FA, for the first time in the history of the association, he provided private sector funding of all activities of the football association without recourse to Government funds. He built a befitting secretariat for the association through private funding which is christened after a three-time General Secretary of the NFF and one of the most respected football administrators in Africa, the late Patrick Okpomo, Patrick Okpomo Football House.

Based on his countless achievements in the twin endeavors as Chairman Delta Football Association and Delta State Sports Commission, he was elected as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation in 2014 where he brought in vibrancy, innovation, transparency, panache, and team-play to bear. He led NFF from zero percent (0%) self funding to eighty percent (80%) self funding as captured in their 2021 audit report prepared by PWC.

Amaju Melvin Pinnick is happily married to Julie Onyinyechi Pinnick and together they have four kids namely Olayemi, Temisan, Dere and Emififen.

He is a member of Ikoyi club and Civic Centre Boat Club.
