Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo

Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, is a Nigerian politician. In March 2023, he became the deputy Governor of Kano State under the platform of New Nigerian Peoples Party in the 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections.[1][2][3][4]

Early life and education

Aminu was born on 6 August 1960, in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State. He attended Gwarzo Day Primary School between 1966 and 1972, he also attended between 1972 and 1977. He obtained National Diploma Hiegher and National Diploma from Kano State Polytechnic, he also attended Bayero University, Kano between 2007 and 2008 for Psotgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Administration

Career

He stated as a classroom teacher in 1977 where he became Head Master in 1981

He became a revenue officer after obtaining a National Diploma in Banking and Finance, Higher National Diploma in Accountancy in 1988 where he served for good 6 years and join politics and became Executive Chairman in 1996.

Political

Aminu became the deputy Governor Elect in March 2023, under the platform of New Nigeria Peoples Party in the 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections with his Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.[5][6][7][8] Abba Kabir Yusuf retained Aminu as his running mate since 2019 Nigerian general election.[9][10]

Aminu was the Commissioner state Affair, between 2011 and 2015 under the former Governor of Kano State Engineer Rabiu Kwankwaso.[11]

He was chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area in 1996 and also between 1999 and 2003 under Peoples Democratic Party PDP while Rabiu Kwankwaso was the Governor of Kano State
