Annie Sanders

Anastasia "Annie" Sanders (born July 22, 2007[2]) is an American rock climber, sport climber, and boulderer based in Fort Worth, Texas.

In November 2022, Sanders won the USA Climbing National Championships for both women's lead and bouldering events[3] in her first senior competition at age 15.[4] In March 2023, she again swept the competition at the 2023 USA Climbing National Team Trials, winning the bouldering, lead and combined events, and qualifying for the United States national team for the 2023 IFSC Climbing World Cup and the 2023 IFSC Climbing World Championships in the process.[5]

As a youth competitor, Sanders won IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships gold medals in bouldering, lead and combined in 2021,[6] and in bouldering in 2022, all in the Female Youth B (age 13-15) category.[7]

She has made several outdoor ascents of grades 5.13 or higher in the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, including a flash of the 5.14a (8b+)-rated Omaha Beach in October 2021.
