Background

After a seven-year hiatus, Big Time Rush announced they would be reuniting for two performances in New York and Chicago in December 2021.[3] Shortly before these performances, the band released their first single in over nine years, "Call It Like I See It".[4] This release was succeeded by multiple standalone singles in 2022, including "Not Giving You Up", "Fall", "Honey", "Dale Pa' Ya" with Dominican artist Maffio, and a re-recording of "Paralyzed". These singles were promoted by the band's first tour in eight years, the Forever Tour.

Big Time Rush released another new single, "Can't Get Enough", on February 6, 2023, accompanied by a Today Show performance and appearance. Alongside this release, the band announced a brand new tour, the Can't Get Enough Tour, set to begin in June 2023.[5] On April 4, 2023, the band announced the release date of a new single, "Waves", would be on May 3, 2023, followed by the release of their fourth studio album on June 9, 2023.[6] The track list of the album was teased on April 28, 2023, confirming the singles "Can't Get Enough" and "Waves" would be included.[7] The full track list was revealed two days later, confirming that the album would be titled Another Life.[1]

Pre-orders of Another Life became available on May 3, 2023, alongside the release of "Waves" and the reveal of the official album artwork.[8] On May 5, 2023, the band announced the release date of Another Life would now be June 2, 2023, coinciding with their performance on Today as part of the 2023 Citi Summer Concert Series.[2][9]
