Aurat Foundation
Aurat Foundation, founded in 1986, is a women's rights organization based in Islamabad with a presence in all four provinces of Pakistan. Its co-founders were Nigar Ahmed and Shahla Zia.[1] Aurat Foundation focuses on promoting women's empowerment and gender equality. The organization's primary objective is to advocate for women's rights, provide them with necessary support and services, and work towards policy reforms that ensure gender equality in Pakistan. The Aurat Foundation works on several issues such as gender-based violence, economic empowerment, legal and policy reform, and political participation to improve the status of women in the country.[2] Over the years, the organization has gained recognition for its contribution to the advancement of women's rights in Pakistan and beyond.
