Avram Iancu High School

Avram Iancu High School (Romanian: Liceul Teoretic „Avram Iancu”) formerly known as the Avram Iancu National College (Romanian: Colegiul Național „Avram Iancu”) is a high school in Brad, Romania. It has been founded in 1869 as the Brad Greek Orthodox Gymansium by the protopope Moise Lazăr and other important personalities of Zarand County following Andrei Șaguna call for the foundation of educational institutions that would provide education to the Eastern Orthodox ethnic Romanians living in the lands of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.[2] Since 1921 the high school operates in a new building, registered as a historical monument.
