Barat, Bannu
Barat, also Bharat or Bhart is one of the most important villages in Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.It is because of the historical site of the Akra which is also known as the Ancient Capital of Bannu.

Tribes in Barat
Subtribes of Umarkhel, Shadikhel, Mamakhel Banuchis along with many other subtribes of Banuchi (Shitaks) reside there. But historically Umarkhel Banuchis(Shitak) are the most dominant among these subtribes of Banuchis.Tribal Chief of Banuchi (Shitaks).Capt, Dr. Baghdad Khan belonged from the subtribe of Umarkhels.He was the first Pashtun (MBBS) doctor of Bannu and neighbouring regions. He was known for his lavish lifestyle and generosity at that time.
