Binge (Bangladeshi streaming service)

Binge is a Bangladeshi subscription-based online video streaming OTT (over-the-top) media service platform and original programming production company, owned by RedDot Digital via subsidiary of Robi.[1] It was launched on 2020 in 100+ countries all over the world. The platform offers endless entertainment in the form of Live TV, web series, films, dramas, movies, Binge Exclusive Originals and much more.[2] Binge has both free and premium (exclusive contents) subscription policy to cater to a diverse audience pool with various taste and preferences. Premium subscription to Binge is free for the first 30 days for large screen and 7 days free for the small screen users.[3][2]

Background and history

Robi Axiata had decided to design a streaming platform that can work with the Streaming Engine and could be configured for best performance. The streaming platform launched by the name Binge.[4]

Binge is being made of combining IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) and digital entertainment services into a single online streaming site.[5] This is the first Bangladeshi Google-certified online video streaming service that can be used on any Android device, including phones and televisions. Even without having a smart TV at home, customers can experience full HD quality using Binge's two-way device.[5][6][7]

Content

Binge focuses on Bangla language content. They have two categories of contents premium and free respectively. To watch premium content subscription is required. They offer a wide variety of contents from: Live TV, web series, films, dramas, movies, Video-On-Demand to Binge Exclusive Originals. They started their journey with 140+ live TV channels, local and international web series, latest TV series, documentaries, TV dramas, etc.[3][8]

Binge is available now from more than120 countries around the world. Binge has come up with two subscription plans for global audience. Users can avail of the service both in monthly and yearly subscription plans.[9][10]

Subsequently, it has logged in 1 lakh subscriptions in just over three months.[6]

Technology partner

Binge is maintained by RedDot Digital currently in partnership with Genex Infosys.[7] Binge Android smart device and streaming platform - both were developed by Genex Infosys.[6]
