Brian Savelson

Brian Savelson is an American writer, director, and producer who works in film, theater, and television.[1][2][3]

Savelson has written for numerous TV series including Amazon's The New Yorker Presents,[4] Fox's Next, and Apple's Little America.[5][6]

Savelson wrote and directed the feature film In Our Nature[7][8][9] starring John Slattery,[10][11] Jena Malone,[12] Zach Gilford,[13] and Gabrielle Union.[14][15]

Savelson was an associate producer of the Tony Award-winning revival of A Raisin in the Sun[16][17] starring Sean Combs, Audra McDonald, Phylicia Rashad, and Sanaa Lathan.[18] The production was noted for the especially diverse audience it brought to Broadway.[19]

Savelson's short film "Counting Water" screened at over 20 film festivals, was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Atlanta Film Festival,[20] was aired on PBS, and exhibited at LACMA.[21]

Savelson won an MVPA Award for his direction of the Band Of Horses music video "Is There A Ghost."[22] Savelson directed the music video for Joss Stone's cover of The High Road which featured the singer riding an elephant through a world of melting clocks.[23] Savelson has also directed music videos for Ra Ra Riot[24] and The Republic Tigers.[25]

In August 2020, it was announced Savelson would be collaborating on a new TV series with Janicza Bravo and Jake Gyllenhaal based on Ian Parker's New Yorker article, "A Suspense Novelist's Trail of Deceptions."[26][27]
