Bybit is a cryptocurrency exchange[1] founded in 2018.[2] Bybit is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

History

The company was founded in March 2018, with Ben Zhou as one of the co-founders.[3] As of 2021, the Bybit exchange was blocked from operating in the United States,[4] and in 2021 Bybit received warnings from the regulators in Japan and Canada.[5]

In November 2019, the company organized a Bitcoin trading competition called "BTC Brawl".[6] In 2020 and 2021, Bybit ran a trading competition called "World Series of Trading".[7] In February 2021, the company sponsored Red Bull Racing.[8]

Bybit started spot trading on July 15, 2021.[9] In August 2021, Bybit announced sponsorship deals with esports organisations NAVI,[10] Virtus.pro,[11] Astralis and Alliance.[12]
