Central Punjab
Central Punjab (Urdu: وسطی پنجاب) is a proposed new province of Pakistan, comprising the areas which has a majority of northern part of Punjab province. Made up of Faisalabad Division, Gujranwala Division, Gujrat Division, Lahore Division, Mianwali Division, Rawalpindi Division, Sahiwal Division and Sargodha Division of Punjab Province. The proposed Central Punjab forms about 48 percent of the total area and almost 60 percent of the population of Punjab province. Central Punjab has a population of around 70 million as of 2017 and is estimated to be around 85 million in 2023.[1][2]
