Che Gossett

Che Gossett is a trans femme writer, and archivist.[1] They have written extensively on black and trans visibility, black trans aesthetics,[2][3][4] racial capitalism,[5][6] and queer, trans and black radicalism, resistance and abolition.[7]

Early life

Gossett grew up in Massachusetts with their sibling, activist and filmmaker Tourmaline.[8] They received their Doctorate in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University in 2021.[9]

Publications

They have published their writing in Trap Door: Trans Cultural Production and the Politics of Visibility,[10] Death and Other Penalties: Continental Philosophers on Prisons and Capital Punishment,[11] Transgender Studies Reader,[12] The Scholar & Feminist Online,[13] Los Angeles Review of Books,[14] and Frieze.[15][16] Gossett has lectured and performed at The Museum of Modern Art, MoMA PS1, Whitney Museum of American Art, New Museum and A.I.R.
