Cole Murphy

Cole Murphy (born April 12, 1996), nicknamed Clutch Cole, is an American football placekicker for the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL).[1] Originally signed as an undrafted free agent towards the end of Week 5 of the league's inaugural season, he became one of the league's most consistent kickers.[2] He played college football at Syracuse.

Professional career

Murphy went unsigned during the 2018 NFL Draft, but decided to sign with the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football for their 2019 season, though he remained on the practice squad during the league's early shutdown.[3] He then signed with the Arizona Cardinals to their practice squad, but was cut during their annual preseason cuts.[4] Murphy then spent the next 2 years away from football before being signed by the Panthers during the 2022 USFL season, where he remains as the Panthers' all-time leading scorer.
