Diploma in Education and Training
The Diploma in Education and Training is an initial teacher training qualification, studied at QCF Level 5, for teaching in Further Education (FE) and the lifelong learning sector of education in the United Kingdom. Study for the Diploma in Education and Training typically follows the completion of the Certificate in Education and Training at QCF Level 4 and the Award in Education and Training at QCF Level 3. The Diploma in Education and Training qualifies a teacher for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status from the Institute for Learning.[1] The Diploma in Education and Training replaces the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.[2] Diploma in Education and Training also known as DTLLS and is an industry standard qualification for those teaching in the post 16-sector. Previously it was designed under the frame work of QCF which has now been changed to Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
Scope of DTLLS Qualification
With this teacher training qualification, you can teach in diverse fields such as the Culinary Arts, Engineering, Music Teaching, Performing Arts, Driving Instruction, Hospitality & Catering, NHS training, Personal Services, Teacher’s Training, Freelance Teaching and Training, and many more industries. There are some practical requirements[3] to take this course which varies from institution to institution.
Progression
Successful completion of this teaching certificate online enables you to enhance your career profile and apply for QTLS status which is accredited from SET (Society for Edcuation & Training). It means you can be employed as a state school teacher in the 14+ sector (for GCSE and A-Level students). Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can also undertake the following qualifications.

- Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership
