Elisabeth Roth
Elisabeth Roth (30 November 1920 Hösbach – 4 May 2010) was a German folklorist. In 1984, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.[1][2] In 1991, she was awarded the Aventinus Medal of the Association of Bavarian History Associations. In 1991, she was awarded the Culture Prize of the Upper Franconia Foundation.[3]

Career
In 1970, Roth was appointed associate professor at the University of Bamberg . From 1971 until 1989, she was full professor of local history and folklore. As the founding rector, she was instrumental in setting up the newly founded Bamberg University school of Applied Sciences .[4][5][6][7]
