Yael Cohen Braun

Yael Cohen Braun (née Cohen; born 4 November 1986), a South African-Canadian, is the co-founder of Fuck Cancer and ex-wife of Scooter Braun.[1]

Early life

Cohen Braun was born in South Africa to a Jewish family.[2][3] The family moved to Canada in 1994.[4] She attended the University of British Columbia to study political science.[5][6]

Career

Cohen Braun launched Fuck Cancer in 2009 after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.[7] Fuck Cancer engages millennials through social media to have a conversation about early detection and acute awareness of cancer.[8] In 2016, Fuck Cancer collaborated with jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher on fashion wearables in support of cancer victims.[9][10]

Cohen Braun and her then-husband Scooter Braun held a fundraiser for Kamala Harris during the 2020 Democratic primaries.[11]

Personal life

Cohen Braun married American music manager Scooter Braun on July 6, 2014 in Whistler, British Columbia. They have three children.[12][13][14] In July 2021, it was reported that the couple had separated.[15] Braun filed for divorce on July 21, 2021.[16]
