Gündoğdu Üstün

Gündoğdu Üstün is a Turkish diplomat who served as ambassador to Israel, Ireland,[1] Yugoslavia and India. He also served as Acting Secretary General of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.[2]

In 1984, in an apparent suicide attempt, he was critically wounded by a gunshot to the head.[1] His father is Faik Üstün, a former governor and a member of parliament of Turkey.

Biography

Üstün was born in Ankara in 1920 and in 1942 graduated with a political science from Ankara University.
