Jamunamukh
Jamunamukh is a town located in the district of Hojai in the Indian state of Assam. It is situated on the bank of the Jamuna River, which flows through the town and gives it its name. Jamunamukh is surrounded by three rivers i.e Jamuna, Kapili, and Nikhari. Since 1951'Jamunamukh is an assembly constituency, Jamunamukh constituency is also a part of Nowgaon Loksabha Constituency. Present MLA of Jamunamukh is Siraj Uddin Ajmal of AIUDF. [1]
Geography
Jamunamukh is the last boundary of Hojai district and also it shares the district border to Nagaon district of Assam. Jamunamukh is surrounded by Raha and Hojai Assembly Constituencies. Jamunamukh has an average elevation of 46 metres (151 feet). The town is surrounded by lush green forests. The climate in Jamunamukh is tropical, with an average temperature of 24°C (75°F) and high humidity throughout the year.
Economy
The economy of Jamunamukh is primarily based on agriculture, with the town being a major producer of rice, tea, and various other crops. The town also has a small industrial sector, with a few small-scale industries such as rice mills and tea processing units. It is a commercial place, road development and trains stoppage can make Jamunamukh a commercial hub.

Transportation
Transportation is very poor just because of the roads. Jamunamukh is connected to other parts of Assam and India by road and rail. But road development and trains stoppage is much needed for the better communication. Since India's Independence, road between Jamunamukh and Sarupather which is of 6 kilometres and the life line of the people of the greater area has not been fully constructed till today. The town is situated only 6 kilometres away from National Highway 37, which connects it to major cities such as Guwahati and Silchar. The nearest railway station is Jamunamukh Railway Station, which is situated in the heart of the town. Jamunamukh Railway Station is one of the oldest railway station in between Guwahati-Lumding Junction under NF Railway. For the convenient travel of the train travelling passengers atleast 4 to 5 mail/express trains stoppage is of utmost importance. Road development and trains stoppage can make this place a commercial hub. [2]

Jamunamukh Railway Station :- Jamunamukh Railway Station is one of the oldest railway station in between Guwahati-Lumding Junction under NF Railway. The station was established during British period.
Jamunamukh Police Station:- Jamunamukh Police Station was established in the year 1902. The police station is one of the oldest police station of undivided Nagaon district. Earlier it's area was Jagiroad to Lumding.
