John Pemberton Plumptre

John Pemberton Plumptre (3 May 1791 – 7 January 1864[1]) was a British politician. He was elected as a Conservative Member of Parliament for East Kent in 1832, and resigned on 29 January 1852 through appointment as Steward of the Chiltern Hundreds. He was educated at St John's College, Cambridge.[2]

He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1813 and called to the bar in 1817. He married Catharine Matilda Methuen in 1818. There were children from the marriage.[2] His mother's maiden name was Charlotte Pemberton. One of her brothers was the eminent physician Christopher Robert Pemberton.[3]
