Kashmir Law College

Kashmir Law College or KLC is a private law school situated at Tawheed Abad, Nowshera, Srinagar in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.[1] It offers undergraduate 3 years law courses, 5 Year Integrated B.A. LL.B. courses is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi and affiliated to University of Kashmir.[2]

Kashmir Law College

Kashmir Law College was founded by the erstwhile Shadab Educational Trust in 2005 and is now incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 as SHADAB FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION AND CHARITY. Although there is a Law department in the University of Kashmir, yet the erstwhile Shadab Educational Trust took a decision to introduce the first law college in the private sector in Srinagar city, located at Nowshera which is about 8 Kilometres away from the District Court Complex, Srinagar.  The College is in close proximity of the University of Kashmir and Institute of Medical Science, Soura. It has a campus spread over an area of 8 Kanals of land. The College is permanently affiliated with the University of Kashmir and recognised by the Bar Council of India


The College is approved by the Bar Council of India for imparting Legal Education and has also been recognised by UGC under Section 2 (f) and Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. The college focuses on applied legal education which develops the frontiers of knowledge that is relevant to the Students as practitioners in public institutions and society at large. The college was established with the objective to prepare the professionals who acquire the power of clear thinking, accurate analysis and cogent expression.

The college offers quality legal education using multifaceted pedagogy with an effective interface with law to translate the mission into action. The college has a qualified and experienced teaching faculty supported by very senior guest faculty members.[3]
