Kim Thaek-song

Kim Thaek-song (born 1933 in Kanggye) is a North Korean magician, actor, and circus performer who currently works as an instructor at the pyongyang school of circus.[1]

Biography

Kim was born in 1933 to a family in Pukmundong in Kanggye. After the liberation of Korea in 1945, He studied at the college of lathe engineering, and worked in a factory during the Korean war. In 1957, while working in the Huichon machine tool factory, he participated in the art modelling movement. In 1962, he participated in various air circus activities as part of the Korean circus troupe. From 1964, he created his own creative magic routine while working as a magician.[2]

Awards

Kim received the Hero of Labor by the North Korean government in 1985.[2]
