In May 2021, she set a world record becoming the fastest woman to climb Mount Everest and Lhotse in less than twelve hours. Her success in previous expeditions and summit attempts has inspired her to embark in 2022 upon her latest challenge, ‘Bremont 14 Peaks’, a monumental effort to become the first woman in history and the second person ever to climb all 14 peaks above 8,000m in just 6 months after Nirmal Purja.

She came close to beating Nirmal Purja's record time for climbing all 14 eight-thousanders in a season. Only two peaks were missing. However, since the Chinese authorities refused her permits for Cho Oyu and Shishapangma, her record hunt was over at that point. Harila completed her goal of reaching all true summits on May 03, 2023 after 1 year and 5 days, a world record, regardless of gender.[2] She is currently attempting to beat her record.[3]

As a cross-country skier she managed to place 44th and 46th in two editions of the Norwegian championships. She represented the club IL Polarstjernen.[1]
