Kukarmunda

Kukarmunda (Gujarati: કુકરમુંડા) is one of seven Tehsils of Tapi district in South Gujarat. Originally Kukarmunda was a village and its tehsil Nizar but when the government separated Tapi district from Surat in the year 2007, Kukarmunda became a tehsil. The distance between Kukarmunda and Vyara is about 110 km and Surat is about 178 km. Kukarmunda shares a border with Akkalkuwa Taloda and Shahada tehsil of Nandurbar district of Maharashtra.Total area of Kukarmunda Town is 0.82 KM²

Ramnavmi Celebration:

Kukarmunda is vary famous for ramnavmi celebration the hanumanta idol presented by Tulsidasji to Janjasvant swami is present in Ram Mandir of Jasvant Chowk every year at evening people's came to worship the idol and at night people's do Gaurding( હુંબી ચોકી)and some do Guarding by sitting(બેઠેલી ચોકી). At early morning 4:00 AM one person get up himself as Lord Hanumanta and then Prasad is distributed to all and ceremony ends.[1]

Saint Dagaji Maharaj Dindi:

Every year Pilgrims travels from Chopala(Maharashtra) to Asha(Gujarat) one night they stay at Kukarmunda.

Dashavtar:

Every year Dashavtar celebrated in Kukarmunda in Swami Samartha Temple area there are holy wooden mask of lord Hanuman,Garuda,Varah Avtar,Nursing Avtar,Ambe Mata and Mahisasur were worn by people's this was going on for about 8–10 days in night and on last day Mahisasur and Ambee Matas fight occurs.It was believed that wooden mask were found from banks of river Tapi but after Covid-19 it was stopped

History

The new kukarmunda is relocated in 1970 befor it was located on the bank of Tapi .Kukarmunda is the holly place for worship the birth place of sadguru santoji maharaj who was freedomfighter of Indian freedom struggle once he went to the jail for freedom struggle. Sadguru khandoji maharaj who was the founder sent of sadguru khandoji maharaj sansthan. Kukarmunda is famous for prasadic idol of hanumanta which was presented by Tulsidasji to janjasvant swami.this hanumanta idol is now existed in shree Ram mandir. every year the ramnavmi celebration is celebrated in this tample at old kukarmunda 360 years old hatkeshwar temple is existed as well as vhalheri temple.
