Leader: Amie Bangladesh

Leader: Amie Bangladesh is a 2023 Bangladeshi political-action film featuring Shakib Khan and Shobnom Bubly. It is directed by Topu Khan, which is his first directed film. It is produced by Syed Ashik Rahman under the banner of Bengal Multimedia. Leader: Amie Bangladesh was a commercial hit.[1][2]

Production

Bengal Multimedia announced Sakib Khan's new film 'Leader, Ami Bangladesh' in February 2021 at a press conference arranged at Tejgaon Bengal Multimedia Studio.[4]

Shooting started in February 2021 for this film. But the shooting of this film was halted in the middle of July, as per government orders, owing to the pandemic. Shakib Khan resumed shooting for the film at BFDC in August 2021.[5]

The shoot was then postponed on September 26 of the same year. The entire production of the film was completed in three and a half months except for one song's video which was later completed in October 2022.[6] Although the release of the film was delayed several times, it's now ready to be released. The film received uncut clearance at the end of December 2022 from the Censor Board.

Release

The first look poster of the film Leader: Amie Bangladesh was released in May 2021 on press release.[7] The 51-second teaser was released at 7 PM on National Film Day 3 April 2023. Tapu Khan chose this day to release the teaser.[8]

This film was proposed to release in Eid ul Azha 2022 but couldn't make the release.[9]Than the film was released on April 22, 2023 at 100 cinema halls in the Eid al-fitr day.[10][11]

Reception

Critical response

On the review of Samakal, they gave the film a positive 8/10 rating and said "Familiar real life events shown in big screen"[12]On the review of Bangla Tribute, they gave the film a 7/10 rating saying "The songs are the best part of the film"[13]

Box office

Leader: Amie Bangladesh collected approximately BDT 6.47 crore at the box office in the first 8 days and later collected approximately BDT 9.56 crore at box office. Becoming the highest-grossing Bangladeshi film in Eid-al-fiter 2023.[2][1]
