Lee Burkhill

Lee Burkhill is a British television presenter, garden designer and horticulture expert,[1] best known for his appearances on gardening programmes and BBC's Garden Rescue.[2]

Early life & education

Lee was born on 15 February 1983 in North West of England. He did his schooling from Rainford High Technology College and studied law at Keele University. He completed Masters from Manchester Metropolitan University. He studied horticulture for 2 years at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.[3] He lives in Lancashire with his pet dog called Barry.[4]

Career

According to Hello! (magazine), Lee started his career in IT for 10 years then began working as a Garden Designer. He runs an online gardening blog where he shares video resources created by him. In 2014, he established Garden Ninja as his garden designing business.[5]

In 2016, his gardening blog fetched him an award at the Royal Horticultural Society & BBC Feel Good Gardens.[6] In 2017, he was a Runner-Up for the Alan Titchmarsh New Talent Award by Garden Media Guild.[7] In 2018, Lee won the Chelsea Flower Show Director Generals Trade Standard Award.[8]

In 2019, he has been voted as the UK Top 10 blogger by Vuelo.[9] In the same year, he won BBC Sunshine Show Garden RHS Tatton.

Since 2020, he has been featured as the main presenter on BBC One's Garden Rescue program.[10] In 2021, he won BBC Community Garden RHS Tatton.[11]
