Linlang (2023 TV series)

Linlang (lit. 'deceit/deception') is an upcoming Philippine thriller drama television series to be aired by Kapamilya Channel. Directed by FM Reyes and Jojo Saguin, it stars Paulo Avelino, JM De Guzman with Kim Chiu and Maricel Soriano in the lead roles. The series is set to premiere on the network's Primetime Bida evening block, Jeepney TV, A2Z Primetime Weeknights, and TV5's Todo Max Primetime Singko, and worldwide via The Filipino Channel.

Development

In October 2022, ABS-CBN announced the upcoming television series, unveiling it's stellar casts[10] and the production unit Dreamscape Entertainment developing the series.

Casting

In September 2022, rumors circulated on the web that Maricel Soriano will be joining Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino for a Dreamscape teleserye.

On October 22 an unveiling teaser was released, adding JM De Guzman as the secondary male lead.

The unveiling teaser[11] was narrated by the executives of ABS-CBN, giving viewers hints on the theme of the upcoming show with the main statement:

"Kung si Mister kayang manloko, si Misis, matinik magtago ng sikreto! Ihanda ang iyong mga puso sa bagong teleseryeng hindi ka pakakalmahin!"

Transl: "If the Mister can cheat, the Wife can hide a secret! Prepare your hearts for the new teleserye that will not let you down"

Suggesting that the show won't only be a thriller, but will also talk on the subject of infidelity.

The teaser immediately trended online, with most sharing their excitement for the return of Kim Chiu (Multimedia Idol) whose role was hinted at as more daring and villainous than her previous works (making it a first for the actress), and Award-winning actor Paulo Avelino's role is said to be his most controversial.

Whilst Premiere actor JM De Guzman being excited as this was his first Dreamscape teleserye and this marks the comeback of the 'Diamond Star' Maricel Soriano.

The two directors JoJo Saguin and Emmanuel Q. Palo stated that the series was a first in Philippine history, and that it was also thoroughly researched.

Filming

Principal Photography and filming commenced in mid February 2023.

Timeslot

Linlang is expected to air in either June or July.

A teaser trailer was released alongside other Dreamscape lineups on March 31, 2023[12][13]
