Makoto Matsumoto (mathematician)
Makoto Matsumoto (松本眞, born February 18, 1965) is a Japanese mathematician. He is a professor at the Department of Mathematics, Graduate School of Science, Hiroshima University.[1] He invented the widely used Mersenne Twister pseudorandom number generator. For this accomplishment he was awarded the 13th IBM Japan Science Prize in 1999.[2]
