Matoula has a career-high singles ranking by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) of 518, achieved on 17 October 2022. She also has a career-high doubles ranking by the WTA of 466, achieved on 3 April 2023. She has won one singles title and two doubles titles at tournaments of the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour.

Matoula competes for Greece in the Billie Jean King Cup, where she has a win/loss record of 1–0.[2][3]

She attended college at the University of Tulsa (2015–2019).[4]
