Matsushima Sumaya
Matsushima Sumaya, a Japanese-Bangladeshi footballer who is also considered as the first woman freestyler of Bangladesh.[1][2][3] She was born in Japan, as her mother, Matsushima Tomomi is Japanese. Her father Masudur Rahman is Bangladeshi. At the age of 2 , she was brought to Bangladesh, but at 2008 she permanently shifted.[4] Right now, sumaya, a midfielder of Basundhara Kings women football team also was a ace footballer of Dhivehi Sifainge club (DSC) of Maldives.

Sumaya was fond of football since her childhood. She studied at Sea Breeze International School till her 8th class. Then she shifted to Don Bosco School and college. In 2018, she formed a football team and participated in the Inter-English Medium School festival.[5] Her team participated in the competition for 6 times and they achieved the Champion title for 4 times in a row. Sumaya became the top goal scorer and best player of the competition.
Her professional football journey started later on 2020, when one selector of Basundhara Kings saw her playing and suggested her name to the club. Besides she started playing futsal in Maldives. Sumaya played for DSC alongside Sabina Khatun. Sumaya-Sabina duo lead DSC for the whole tournament and at the end DSC achieved the championship where sumaya was the concluding goal scorer of the final match which also the 10th goal of DSC on that match.[6] As an ace player of Basundhara kings, Sumaya is aiming for the national football team.[4][5][6][7][8][9]
