Mehregan District

Mehregan District (Persian: بخش مهرگان) is in Saravan County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Esfandak.[3]

At the 2006 National Census, its population (as the former Kuhak-e Esfandak Rural District) was 9,267 in 1,989 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 11,633 people in 2,596 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 12,880 inhabitants in 3,089 households.[2]

After the census, Kuhak-e Esfandak Rural District was separated from Bam Pasht District, elevated to the status of Mehregan District, and divided into two rural districts.[3]
