Mian Nasir Muhammad Kalhoro

Mian Nasir Muhammad Kalhoro (Urdu: ميان نصير محمد کلہوڑو, Sindhi: ميان نصير محمد ڪلهوڙو) was the Nawab of Sindh from Kalhora dynasty appointed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Nasir ruled from 1657 to 1692.[1] He was succeeded by his son Mian Deen Muhammad. Nasir's tomb is sited in Dadu District, Khairpur Nathan Shah near the village of Garhi in Sindh, Pakistan.[2][3]

Kalhoro is pure Sindhi clan but Shah was their title given by their disciples. Mian Nasir Muhammad Kalhoro belonged to Noble Kalhora Family whose first historical personality was Mian Adam Shah Kalhoro whose shrine is at heart of the city Sukkur.[4] Mian Nasir Muhammad succeeded legacy of forefathers and their Mianwal Movement which struggled against Mughal Empire[1] He was not only ruler but also a spiritual leader of Mianwal Movement. During movement against Mughals Mian Nasir Muhammad Kalhoro was imprisoned by Mughals in Gwalior jail and was conditionally released from jail.[5] The cemetery where he is buried is famous after his name as graveyard of Mian Nasir Muhammad Kalhoro.[6]
