Mission Chapter 1

Mission: Chapter 1, also known as Mission: Chapter 1 - Achcham Enbathu Illaiyae (transl. Mission Chapter 1: Fearless Journey) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written by A. Mahadev and directed by A. L. Vijay, and produced by Subaskaran, M. Rajashekar, S. Swathi, Surya Vamsi Prasad Kotha and Jeevan Kotha under Lyca Productions, Sri Shirdi Sai Movies, New March Fast Pictures and Aspen Film Productions (P) Ltd.[1] The film stars Arun Vijay, Amy Jackson (in her acting comeback), Abi Hassan, Bharat Bopana, Baby Iyal, Viraaj S, Jason Shah and Nimisha Sajayan (in her Tamil debut).

G. V. Prakash Kumar composed the soundtrack and background score while Sandeep K. Vijay handled the cinematography of the film. The film sets were designed and developed by Saravanan Vasanth.[2]

Premise

In London, an Indian man gets stuck in a prison during his daughter's medical operation, where he finally escapes during a riot and is chased by the prison's jailer Sandra James.

Filming

The film, which was formerly titled Achcham Enbathu Illaiyae, was produced by Sri Shirdi Sai Movies. Later, it was acquired by Lyca Productions, and the film was retitled Mission Chapter 1. On 12 October 2022, while filming, Arun Vijay was injured in the knee and posted about it on Instagram.[4] This film is a comeback for actress Amy Jackson after her 2018 film 2.0. She took a break from acting due to her pregnancy and to take care of her son.[5] She made her Tamil debut with Vijay's Madrasapattinam, and now she comes back with Vijay's directorial film Mission Chapter 1. It is her third collaboration with Vijay. She plays the role of a British woman in this film. She already acted as a British woman in Madrasapattinam.[6] The shooting of the film wrapped up within seventy days. The film was shot in London and Chennai.[7] The film's cinematography was done by Sandeep K. Vijay, and Anthony handled the editing of the film. The story and screenplay are by A. Mahadev, who earlier worked with V. Vijayendra Prasad to write the story for the film Baahubali: The Beginning, and he has directed the 2016 Kannada film Jaguar. The first look poster for the film was released on Arun Vijay's birthday, 19 November 2022.[8] A teaser for the film was released on 5 April 2023.[9][10]

Music

The film's music was composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. This film is the tenth collaboration between the music composer G. V. Prakash Kumar and the filmmaker A. L. Vijay after the films Kireedam, Madrasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal, Thaandavam, Thalaivaa, Saivam, Idhu Enna Maayam, Watchman, and Thalaivii.[11] This is a second collaboration between G. V. Prakash Kumar and the actor Arun Vijay after the film Yaanai.[12]

Release

Theatrical

The teaser of the film were released on 5 April 2023.[13] It was released in Tamil and dubbed versions in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. The film is expected to release on 5th May 2023. however, there are chances it can be postponed to 25th May 2023
