New Horizon Institute

New Horizon Institute (Nepali : न्यू होराईजन इन्स्टिच्युट)[1] [2], also known as New Horizon College and New Horizon School, was established in 1989 (2046 B.S.) in Tilottama Municipality, Rupandehi, Nepal, by a group of educators, social workers, and businessmen under the leadership of the late Mr. MeLal Chandra Shrestha.[3] Alumni of the school, which has been awarded 7 golden shields for best performance in SEE, include prominent sportsmen, scientists, and intellectuals.

New Horizon has won several titles in cricket, such as the 2015 Hotel Devotee SPA Cup,[4][5] as well as the Expert School Cricket League of Lumbini Region for 2017.[6] Notable cricket players who have studied at New Horizon include Kushal Malla, who helped Nepal to qualify for the 2023 Cricket World Cup and was honoured in a recent ceremony at the school.[7]

History

The Institute commenced +2 programmes in management and science streams in 1996, affiliated with Higher Secondary Education Board.[8][9] The college initiated Tribhuvan University-affiliated BBS and MBS programmes in 2060 and 2064 BS, respectively. New Horizon College started running Pokhara University-affiliated BBA programmes under the name of Kshitiz International College[10][11][12] in 2009 AD and Butwal Model College,[13] Padsari – 8 Kataiya in 2013. The college introduced Tribhuvan University-affiliated BSc programme in this region from 2068 BS. NHC has launched school level programme in the name of Horizon G.B.S. English Boarding School Under its own management.[3]
