Zawyat Razin
Zawyat Razin (Arabic: زاوية رزين; Coptic: ⲡϣⲁϯ, romanized: Pashati, lit. 'the saved, rescued one'[1]), formerly Shubra al-Laun (Arabic: شبرا اللون),[2] known in Antiquity as Nikiû, Nikiou or Nikious (Ancient Greek: Νικιους, lit. 'the one of Nikias (personal name)', Latin: Nicius), is a city in the Monufia Governorate, Egypt. The alternative name of the city was Prosopis (Ancient Greek: Προσωπίς, lit. 'burdock').[3]

The region hosted the famous Fort Nikiou which was built by Emperor Trajan.[4] The city witnessed the Battle of Nikiou between the Rashidun Caliphate and Byzantine Empire in May of 646.
