Nishiddho is a 2022 Indian Malayalam, Bangla, Tamil-language film directed by Tara Ramanujan, featuring Kani Kusruti and Tanmay Dhanania in lead roles. It is produced by Kerala State Film Development Corporation.

Production

The film is the debut of director Tara Ramanujan.[1] It is produced by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation to support aspiring women filmmakers.[2]

Nishiddho was awarded Best Film at Ottawa Indian Film Festival, Canada. Nishiddho also won Best Indian Director at IFFK and Second Best Film at Kerala State Film Awards 2022. It was screened at NYIFF New York, BIFFES Bengaluru, KIFF Kolkata, DIFF Dhaka, and NGIIFF Frankfurt/Koln.[3]

Reception

Prathibha Joy critic of OTTplay gave 3 stars out of 5 and stated that "As a debutant filmmaker, Tara’s valiant attempt to tell a hard-hitting story deserves applause."[2] A critic from India Today and Manorama Online gave a mixed review.[4][5]
