Padmapuran is a 2021 Bangladeshi film directed by Rashid Palash. It stars actresses Prosun Azad, Sadia Mahi, Sumit Sengupta and others. Padmapuran is made up of various stories of the life of people beyond Padma.[1][2][3]

Plot

Padmapuran is made up of various stories of the life of people beyond Padma River.[1] The present condition of the people living in the Padma river basin, their mentality, financial condition and lifestyle has been brought up in this movie.[5]

Production

One of the executive producers of the film is Golam Rabbani, the film is produced by Punya Films.[1][9] Raihan Shashi's screenplay was shot by Raihan Rashid Jewel, Art Direction by Sushant, Costume Design by Wasif Ahmed, Head of Creative Roy Sandeep Mithu, Editing by Ashraful Alam and Music Director by Zahid Nirab. Filming has been completed on the banks of Padma River in Rajshahi and Dohar in Manikganj.[10]

Release

The movie received censor certificate in August 2021,[9][10] and the movie was released in theaters on October 8 of the same year.[11] Before that, the trailer of the movie was released on YouTube on October 5.[12][13]

Achievement

'Padmapuran' has won the highest state honor 'National Film Awards (Bangladesh) - 2021' in three categories.[14][15][16][17]
