Pampanga Giant Lanterns

The Pampanga Giant Lanterns are a Filipino professional basketball team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) based in San Fernando, Pampanga. Owned by the Provincial Government of Pampanga and sponsored by AMG3 Construction,[1] it is one of four active teams based in the Central Luzon region. The team plays their home games at Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex and Convention Center.

The team began play in the 2018–19 season and are named after the famous Giant Lantern Festival, albeit the name was just the Pampanga Lanterns. The team has also played in the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) under the shortened name Pampanga G Lanterns.

History

The Lanterns joined the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) for the 2018–19 MPBL season, and the Pilipinas Super League in 2022.
