"Amor Prohibido" (English: Forbidden Love) is a song recorded by American Tejano singer Selena for her fifth studio album, Amor Prohibido (1994). Released as the lead single by EMI Latin on 13 April 1994, "Amor Prohibido" was written by her brother-music producer A.B. Quintanilla and Selena y Los Dinos backup vocalist Pete Astudillo. Selena wanted to record a song about the true story of her grandparents—who fell in love despite being of different social classes. Since its release, the lyrical content and themes explored on "Amor Prohibido" has fostered various opinions by authors, musicologists, and journalists who found themes similar to those facing the LGBT community while others expressed it to be a Romeo & Juliet-esque recording, among other popular interpretations of the song by the media.

"Amor Prohibido" is a Mexican cumbia dance-pop song and received widespread acclaim with music critics citing the single as one of the most popular tracks recorded by Selena. The song peaked at number one on the United States Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart for nine consecutive weeks; her first as a solo act.

Michael Laucke (born 29 January 1947) is a Canadian classical, new flamenco, and flamenco guitarist and composer, as well as a music industry businessman.

Laucke was introduced to flamenco by Spanish guitarist Paco de Lucía when the two shared a loft in New York City in the early 1970s. He was selected in 1982 by Andrés Segovia to perform for the PBS network at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, following which he became Segovia's pupil. He performed mainly on classical guitar until 1990; from then on, his concerts have consisted exclusively of flamenco and new flamenco works.

In addition to Segovia, Laucke has studied with other classical guitar players, including Julian Bream, Alirio Díaz and Rolando Valdès-Blain. With his more than 100 transcriptions of classical and flamenco music, Laucke is credited with having broadened the guitar repertoire. Still active in a career spanning five decades, he began performing in 1965, recording the first of 16 albums in 1969, and has toured in 25 countries.

Selected album -

Contra la Corriente (Against the Current) is the third studio album released by Puerto Rican-American singer Marc Anthony on October 21, 1997 by RMM Records. The album was produced by Puerto Rican musician Angel "Cucco" Peña, with most of the songs written by Panamanian composer Omar Alfanno. The album was well-received by critics who praised the vocals of Anthony as well as the songs. The album produced six singles, four of which peaked on the top ten on the Hot Latin Tracks chart. Promoted by a sold-out concert in Madison Square Garden, Contra La Corriente became the first salsa album reach number one on the Top Latin Albums chart and to chart on the Billboard 200.

Contra La Corriente received a Grammy Award and a Latin Billboard Award, and was named the eighth best album of 1997 by Time magazine. The album received a gold certification for sales of 500,000 copies in the United States. This was the last album that Marc Anthony recorded under RMM Records before switching over to Columbia Records to record his first self-titled English album.
