Creation
In Marvel Preview #7 Mantlo discussed the character's creation
"I envisioned my hero as a young prince of a long-since earth-colonized planet thousands of millions of light years from their origin. I saw him as brash, a warrior born and bred, the son of a strong king. I drew again on Homer, and the son of the famous Ulysses, Telemachus, gradually became transformed into Prince Wayfinder of the planet Ithacon"
