Public Auditor of Guam

The Public Auditor of Guam is a territory-wide elected official in Guam. The Public Auditor heads Guam's Office of Public Accountability, which is tasked with conducting government audits, promoting effective management of government resources, and administering procurement appeals.[1]

The position of Public Auditor was established in 1992 and was originally appointed. In 2000, Doris Flores Brooks became the first Public Auditor elected. Public Auditors are elected to four-year terms without term limits, and elections are officially nonpartisan.[2]

The current Public Auditor is Benjamin Cruz, a member of the Democratic Party.
