In 2013, Klein directed Around the World in Eighty Days Off-Broadway at The New Theater at 45th Street (now the AMT Theater).[9][10][11] Neil Genzlinger of The New York Times described the production as a "combination of slick steampunk and cheesy vaudeville, high-tech razzle and low-budget dazzle."[12][13]
In 2014, Klein directed and choreographed The Anthem Off-Broadway at the Lynn Redgrave Theater. This production featured Jenna Leigh Green, Ashley Kate Adams, Remy Zaken, Jason Gotay, and Randy Jones.[14][15][16]

In 2017, Klein directed and choreographed the Grateful Dead musical Red Roses, Green Gold Off-Broadway at the Minetta Lane Theatre.[19] The piece featured the music of Robert Hunter and Jerry Garcia, with additional music by Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Hunter's longtime collaborator, Greg Anton.[20][21][22][23] Dead & Company’s Jeff Chimenti served as music supervisor for the production, which was described by Elisabeth Vincentelli of The New York Times as "furthered by Rachel Klein’s bouncy staging... drenched in folk, country and blues, and rendered quite well by the multitasking cast, which plays all the instruments."[24]
Comedy
In May 2017, Klein directed the celebrity roast of Michael Musto, which raised money for the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. The roast, hosted by Bruce Vilanch, featured Rosie O'Donnell, Bianca Del Rio, Jinkx Monsoon, Orfeh, Randy Rainbow, Luann de Lesseps, Judy Gold, and Randy Jones.[25][26][27]
