Rod Moore

Roderick Moore Jr. (born July 3, 2003) is an American football defensive back for the Michigan Wolverines.

High school career

Moore attended Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio. As a junior, Moore recorded 53 tackles, four interceptions, and three forced fumbles.[1][2] He followed that up in his senior season tallying 43 tackles.[3] A three-star recruit, Moore committed to play college football at the University of Michigan.[4][5]

College career

In his freshman season, Moore played in 11 games, including his first career start against Penn State, where he would total six tackles.[6] Against Ohio State, Moore collected nine tackles, establishing his role in the Michigan defense.[7][8] He finished the season with a total of 32 tackles.[9] During the first game of the 2022 season against Colorado State, Moore recorded his first career interception.[10] During the 2022 Big Ten Championship Game, he posted a career-high in tackles with 14.[11] In the 2022 Fiesta Bowl, he led the team in tackles (12) and recorded an interception.[12] Moore ended the season with 71 tackles and four interceptions.[13] Entering the 2023 season, Moore is seen as a top safety prospect by the media in the 2024 NFL Draft.[14][15][16]
