Kapen[3][4] formerly turned out for Kenya's second-tier side Kibera Black Stars,[5] and top-tier side Posta Rangers F.C. whom he joined on loan from third-tier side Liberty Pro.
In 2020, Kapen was part of the Kenya national under-20 football team[6] that took part in the 2020 CECAFA U-20 Championship in Arusha, Tanzania.
