Sergio Carbajo

Sergio Carbajo (born October 4, 1985) is a Basque-Spanish-American scientist and educator. He is an assistant professor at the University of California, Los Angeles Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) and the UCLA Physics & Astronomy departments and visiting professor at Stanford University’s Photon Science Division at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.[1]

In 2022, Carbajo received the Young Investigator Research Program Award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research in recognition of his work in laser and optical physics.[2]

Education

Carbajo is a graduate of Tecnun, University of Navarra. He holds an M.Sc from Colorado State University and Ph.D. in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron.[3]

Career

Carbajo serves as an assistant professor at the University of California, Los Angeles and a visiting professor at Stanford University.[3] He has featured as a speaker in international conferences and has written lots of peer-reviewed publications.[4][5] He is director of the Quantum Light-Matter Cooperative, a research organization.[6][7][8]
