Gameplay

Stick it to the Stickman's gameplay revolves around navigating through a series of levels filled with hostile employees, obstacles, and bosses. Taking on the role of the stick figure, players are able to use a combination of melee attacks, ranged weapons, and special abilities to defeat their fellow employees and continue their corporate climb. When starting a level all of the attacks are mapped to the spacebar in a certain order, challenging the player to be strategic with each action as they have to be cycled through.[2] The game includes a class system where players can choose what type of office worker they are, where each 'worker' has a different set of attacks and attributes.[3] New classes can be unlocked by earning promotions which is done by defeating enemies and progressing through the game. Each playthrough is different from the last as you unlock new abilities every level that can be used in future runs, enemies also differ from previous runs.[4] In addition to its combat mechanics, Stick it to the Stickman offers a light-hearted narrative that pokes fun at corporate culture and bureaucracy. Players can choose from various dialogue options and make decisions that impact the game's story and character progression.[5]

Plot

Set in a future corporate dystopia, the nameless stickman is hired for a new job through the recommendation of a friend. As the protagonist assumes their new corporate role they are told that firing their friend is up to them, alluding to the fact that they will need to attack or even eliminate the friend.[6] The stickman can no longer handle the working conditions of their job and set's off to settle things with their boss, who is located at the top of the building. The stickman begins their mission to stick it to "The Man" and quickly realizes that they will need to fight their fellow coworkers who populate each floor of the building in order to reach the company's boss.
